Doppler bands up in 1998 in a basement in Solaize, in the southern suburbs of Lyon. The line up is Yann Coste on drums, Xavier Amado on bass and Yoann Brière on guitar. On top of the clever labelling 'intellectual hard rock' that has recently been invented for them, the band operates in a style that is commonly known as 'noise rock', oftenly followed by adjectives such as hypnotic, complex, furious, intense, frenetic, primitive, tortured, savage, stunning, distructured or chaotic (this is a non exhaustive list). All those terms match only one side of the trio, the dark and violent one. But the band can sometimes be more warm, gentle and in general more various... Note that none of the following terms has ever been used to qualify the music of Doppler : happy, joyful, funny or suitable for the whole family. This might come from the fact that all the bands grew up in Lyon, a city that has known in the past acts such as Condense, Deity guns and Bastard among others and which is now still known for it's numerous new bands such as Ned, Bananas at the audience, kabuki buddah and Overmars...(non exhaustive list...). This tradition has not only something to do with music, the will of independence is also something very important, which doesn't make them politised or involved but makes them willing to be free to walk their own ways!! The game of dropping influential names is not easy either, one could say Laddio Bollocko, Ulan Bator, Shellac or Chokebore but this wouldn't be enough for generally the band takes as influence everything they hear.
From their first collaboration with SK records in 1999 (EP 51) to the release of a split EP with Marvin (Douze salopards vol.2, SK records 2005). The band was also responsible for a split EP with NED (der hase ist grün, 2001), a first EP (Star sexual fantasy, SK 2001) and a first album -si nihil aliud -(that is now repressed for SK records). More than a 100 shows sharing the stage with names such as Medications, Sleeping People, Black Heart Procession, Unsane, Melt banana, Sleeppers, Arab on radar, Double Nelson, Cheval de frise, Young Gods, Shipping News....
Doppler have recently recorded their second album "Songs to defy", at the Black Box studio with Peter Deimel. It will be out on september 18th, on SKrecords and the band will be on the road in France and in Europe, from october to december 2008.

Absinth Effect - indie da Trento

Gli Absinth Effect nascono nel 2004. L'alt-rock band trentina inizia a comporre brani originali sin dal principio. Durante i tre anni successivi si esibiscono in diverse località della regione suonando con i gruppi underground più conosciuti della zona.
Nel 2005 la band entra in studio per la prima volta. L'occasione è la registrazione della loro prima canzone "No Chance For Us", con la supervisione di Federico Bergamo. Questa traccia è inclusa nella compilation "Spazio Rock" che annovera anche altre band del Trentino.
Nel 2006 gli Absinth Effect lavorano con il giovane regista e fotografo Simone Cargnoni per la registrazione del video di "Pride Deliverer" e con Denis Martintoni, a dirigere la band durante la registrazione del loro primo demo di sette tracce. Il risultato di queste collaborazioni è la prima pubblicazione degli Absinth Effect: "Something I Learned".
"Something I Learned" comprende una traccia video, una traccia multimediale con immagini ed altro materiale riguardante la band ed i testi delle canzoni. Il demo riceve recensioni positive da varie fanzine e riviste (metal party, noizeitalia, rockit, ecc) che definiscono il genere dei cinque come un miscuglio di Rock Psichedelico, Hard Rock, Stoner, Emo e Grunge. I gruppi che gli addetti ai lavori tendono ad accostare di più agli Absinth sono Muse, Incubus, At The Drive In e System of a Down. Il 2007 è l'anno in cui l'attività live degli Absinth Effect si fa più intensa. In maggio suonano all'edizione 2007 del Festival di Mesiano prima di Ueickap e Livello Zero. Il 22 giugno si conclude il minitour promozionale di Something I Learned, con la data al Sunvalley in Rock Festival 2007 prima degli SKW.
In aprile 2008 la canzone "No Chance For Us" viene selezionata tra 150 per l'Upload Festival 2008 di Bolzano assieme ad altri 19 artisti. Il 2 maggio 2008 si esibiscono alle "Notti di Maggio 2008" di Coredo con Ultima e Meganoidi.
In giugno 2008 MTV Italia sceglie "No Chance For Us" per la trasmissione "MTV Operazione Soundwave" presentata da Carolina Di Domenico. Gli Absinth suonano live il pezzo di fronte ad una giuria composta da Kris & Kris (MTV, Radio 105), Paolo Giordano e Roberto Gentileschi (Sugar Records) che giudica positivamente l'esibizione. Next Point - rock alternativo da Fiera di Primiero

I Next Point sono una Rock Band della provincia di Trento, (I). La band è composta dal leader Andy alla voce e alla chitarra, Guido al basso, Skalèt alla batteria e Boni ai cori e alla chitarra, tutti originari di Transacqua (Primiero)...
La band nasce nel 2004 quando Boni si aggrega al trio "Second Coming" formato dagli altri tre componenti nell'attuale gruppo.
Dopo numerosi concerti live nel panorama primierotto, la band decide di incidere il primo cd demo autoprodotto contenente sei canzoni di propria produzione "Maxima30", che esce nel maggio 2006. Con il successo ottenuto da questa prima produzione, la band si esibisce in molteplici concerti e concorsi musicali fuori casa, tra cui la Fiera Internazionale della Musica ad Azzano Decimo, Levico Summer Festival, Warning Day a Riva del Garda, ecc.. e continua ad attirare i propri fans e a produrre nuova musica. Infatti nell'estate 2008 esce il loro primo album "Destroy The Media Social Mask" contenente nove nuove canzoni.
La band basa il proprio lavoro artistico su contaminazioni provenienti da gruppi indie, rock e punk quali Smashing Pumpkins, Millencolin, Foo Fighters, Beatsteaks, International Noise Cospiracy, Backyard Babies, ecc. caratterizzato da un sound aggressivo e graffiante, affiancato da un repertorio acustico esclusivo come intro dei live e per il quale esiste attualmente un progetto discografico futuro.
